Esther Beuzeville was born in London on May 10, 1786. She was the youngest daughter of Peter and Mary Beuzeville (nee Meredith). Her father was a silk manufacturer at Spitalfields and the family lived at Hackney. In 1789, when Esther was about three years old, the family moved to Cheshunt in Hertfordshire.
