I’m doing a spot of family history research for one of the Hendry family (grandson of Douglas Doig Hendry) and I have his ‘family bible’ to hand. It has a number of dates of birth / death / marriage etc. It suggests that Robert Hendry was born in 1778 rather than 1774. I am, of course, interested to know where the 1774 date comes from and whether your source or mine is likely to be more correct. Both dates are, of course, some time before those available through Scotland’s People.
I have no idea but am quite prepared to ask him if he would be prepared to share an image of the ‘Bible’
